The flat iron is probably the most versatile tool in your hair styling arsenal, considering its ability to straighten, curl and texturize your hair. We get a lot of e-mails from customers asking whether or not it is safe to use flat irons on their hair wigs, clip on pieces, and extensions. As long as your product is made from human hair, then YES! Go wild with your flat iron. In fact, this goes for all hot styling tools so crimpers, curling irons and hair dryers also apply.

On the other hand, if your product is made from synthetic hair, then keep those hot styling tools away and protect your investment since synthetic fibers are much less resistant to heat. We do carry some synthetic products such as the Alan Eaton Options line that are made with special heat-resistant fibers. Though they can be styled with flat irons and curling irons, we recommend using a relatively low temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit or less.
