With the Academy Awards come and gone, let’s look back on the fun styles of our leading ladies beauty moments.

One movie that was up for nomination was “Inglorious Basterds”, starring Dian Kruger as a secret agent. Here we see Kruger in full costume with the classic 1950’s style hair pinned back tucked neatly under a hat and big beautiful red lips.

“A Single Man” was a beautiful movie that took place in the 1960’s. Julianne Moore starred in it, with a big curls and an up do and with big thick black curved eyeliner. She pulled the look off perfect!

Camila Alves’ Hair Styles on Shear Genius

Posted in General on March 3rd, 2010 by Nancy – Be the first to comment

Camila Alves is host of reality/competition show, Shear Genius on Bravo TV and a Brazilian bombshell. She is a model and designer or better known as the wife of Matthew McConaughey. Alves and McConaughey recently gave birth to a beautiful bundle of joy, Vida.

As the host of Shear Genius, Alves must have the most up to date, fashion forward hairstyles. Here are some easy looks that anyone can do.  Like with most TV shows, not everything you see is as it seems.

Currently bangs or fringe is the biggest trend. Alves is shown here with bang extensions.  She says, “I went home with the bangs attached, and everyone thought I had cut my hair. The last time I had bangs, I was 12.”

This is Alves with long flowing locks which are hair extensions. This is a loose wavy look that can be easily achieved with a curling iron. A fun idea with this look would be to add the bang extension.  Here is a comment from her on long extensions, “Long extensions are tricky. I give women who grow their hair this long a lot of props, but it’s too long for me.”

A pony is always a good classic look for day or evening. Alves states this pony as, “…a work of art.” This look can be effortlessly done with some patience and lots of hair spray.

Another easy hairstyle is the Faux Bob, this style is a timeless look that anyone can pull off.  She explains here how this process was done, “This is my real hair, tucked under. In the back, it full-on looked like a short, wavy-curly bob—I was completely wowed.”
